Ben Edward Davis, age 87 of Jonesboro, formerly of Manila, passed from this life Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born and raised in the Lost Cane community near Manila, he was the son of the late Sam and Odell Benson Davis and had been a lifelong Manila area resident until making his home in Jonesboro 3 years ago. Later in life he enjoyed woodworking, traveling and visiting with his buddies at the coffee shop.

He was a longtime member of New Harmony Baptist Church near Manila. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Owens Davis in 2011 and 1 sister, Nina Jean Griffith. Ben was blessed with a loving wife, Sondra Money Davis of 54 years, who preceded in death. In addition to Sondra, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael Davis and brother, Jerry Davis. Albert attended Texas Southern University with an emphasis in Mathematics and was a part of the track team. Albert accepted Christ at an early age attending Shilo Missionary Baptist Church as a youth. He joined Good Hope MBC in 1987 under the leadership of Pastor Crawford W. Kimble where he became an ordained deacon. In 1996, he joined Greater New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of his lifelong friend, Paster Donald Dickson. Albert was a faithful and active member of the choir and deacon board until his passing. To ensure that each family properly celebrate the life of their loved one, The Henry Family has made renovations bringing Ben Davis Funeral Home into the 21st century.
